Brad Pitt marks new chapter as he sells beloved home he shared with Angelina Jolie and kids
Brad Pitt is ready to move on from the beloved house – or rather, estate – he has called home for nearly thirty years.
The star has sold his Los Feliz, Los Angeles residence for a whopping $39 million, a far cry from the initial $1.7 million he paid for it back in 1994. He was represented by Jonathan Mogharrabi of Compass and Marci Kays of The Agency, according to ET.
At the time, he bought the home from horror film icon Cassandra Peterson, who is known for her portrayal of Elvira in the eponymous film series.
He is reportedly leaving bustling Los Angeles behind in favor of quieter, though just as affluent, Carmel By the Sea, Carmel for short, a beach town in Northern California not far from San Francisco, and an approximate five hour drive from Los Angeles.
The impressive home, which is more akin to a compound, is in a gated community and was reportedly built by an oil baron in 1910.

It boasts not only expansive grounds around the main property – the actor purchased some neighboring lots for even more space – and a main house of 6,700 square feet with five bedrooms and five bathrooms, but also a rich history.
Rock legend Jimmy Hendrix wrote his 1967 hit "May This Be Love" in the home, not to mention Brad and his ex-wife Angelina Jolie lived in the residence with their six kids for part of their relationship.

The former couple started dating in 2005 after meeting on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith the year prior – and after Brad's highly-publicized divorce from Jennifer Aniston, which was also in 2005. They tied the knot nearly a decade later in 2014, though they split in 2017.
Their divorce has been highly tumultuous, and they have had various legal battles over custody of their children – Maddox Chivan, 21, Pax Thien, 19, Zahara Marley, 18, Shiloh Nouvel, 16, and twins Knox Léon and Vivienne Marcheline, 14 – ownership of their French vineyard, Château Miraval, as well as claims of domestic abuse.
Brad is currently dating jewelry professional Ines de Ramon, 32, who recently split from husband Paul Wesley, of The Vampire Diaries fame.
