Executive producers Derek Haas and Andrea Newman wouldn't answer questions about whether the pair's controversial romance - Hawkins is paramedic-in-charge Violet's direct report - would continue into season 11, instead only sharing that there will be a "very dangerous situation" the two will be involved in.

Hanako Greensmith, who plays Violet, joined the cast in season eight for a small role before becoming a recurring character in season nine and then being upped in the break before season ten to a series regular.
She has quickly become a beloved member of the cast, and Derek praised the actress for stepping up during recent episodes.

"We talked to Dick Wolf not too long ago and we are so proud of the whole season," he told HELLO! "It was so tough in terms of production, but our crew is the greatest… and the performances are insane with actors really stepping up in ways we couldn't imagine. The way Hanako has portrayed Violet has been amazing."
He also shared that he would love to "put Violet out on her own" for a standalone episode, similar to a recent episode that aired focusing on Chief Boden.
Violet and Hawkins romance will come to a 'dangerous' conclusion
Violet's romance with Hawkins blossomed very quickly, and Hanako previously shared with HELLO! that it was a decision the writers chose very quickly.
"There was a moment Derek came up to the window of the ambulance in episode five [of season 10] and said 'we're thinking of putting you and Hawkins together, what do you think?'" she said.
"I was like, 'that sounds illegal, let's do it'"
Derek praised Hanako for stepping up this season
The season 10 finale will not only be "dangerous" for Hawkins and Violet, but will see the return of Jesse Spencer as Captain Matthew Casey, and will end on a "cliffhanger" that will have fans falling off their seats.
"Not just every act but each page [of the script] there are some crazy twists and turns going on, the audience may have to get some extra mats next to the couches for when they fall," laughed Derek.
Casey, who left the Chicago Fire Department to move to Oregon and raise his late friend's sons, will make an appearance for the wedding of best friend Kelly Severide and Stella Kidd.
Jesse Spencer (second right) will return
"Jesse has been dearly missed and in writing Casey into the finale, we wrote to that feeling- that the character of Casey has been missed," shared Andrea.
"We love that dynamic; Severide and Casey are such a central relationship, and we do get them together. Casey is a man of his word, he is showing up to be the best man at his best friend's wedding," she said.
"It's going to be emotional. We will have those two talking about the changes they have been through over the course of the 10 years we've known them."
