Chris Martin explains why Gwyneth Paltrow and new love Annabelle Wallis perform on Coldplay album

Chris Martin has revealed we can expect some unlikely performances on the new Coldplay album. Thesinger has enlisted his ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow and new girlfriend Annabelle Wallis to lend their vocals to some tracks, much to the surprise of some fans.

However Chris explains that he asked them both to feature because the group wanted people who are important to them to play a part in their upcoming seventh album, .

"Everyone who got asked to sing on our album has an important part in our lives," Chris told . "This is the , so I don't want to get too hippie, but what I'm trying to learn in my life is the value of every human."

Gwyneth and Annabelle are not the only leading ladies to lend their vocals to the album; Beyoncé Knowles and her three-year-old daughter Blue Ivy are also set to feature, while it appears Chris' two children Apple and Moses may also show off their vocal prowess on another track.

"Inclusiveness is the key thing, and it all comes from that poem," Chris said referring to a 13th century poem by Rumi. "The 'choir' started with my two kids coming in after school and recording. We recorded Blue Ivy Carter in New York when her mum Beyoncé was in the studio."

Reports suggest that Gwyneth will perform on a track called , a ballad about a relationship's "enduring spark". The Oscar-winning actress has maintained a strong bond with her former husband following their split in 2014, with the pair remaining on good terms despite both moving on with new partners.

While Gwyneth confirmed her relationship with Glee co-creator Brad Falchuk earlier this year, Chris has been dating British actress Annabelle Wallis since August after the end of his on-off romance with Jennifer Lawrence.
